NOT VERY UNIVERSAL BODY LANGUAGE SIGNS
You might think, that the body language is universal, but it depends on a country. Today I'll present you some signs that may cause misunderstanding during a conversation.
Horns gesture
In Italy it has a connotation of a satanic gesture and it insult on the meaning of "your wife is cheating on you", in Africa it means bad powers, but in Brazil it has a positive connotation and means "good luck".
Thumb up
In Poland, France or the USA, it signals that something is fine or we hitchhike with this, while in Greece and Iran this gesture has a vulgar expression.
Circle gesture
In English-speaking countries and Europe means OK, while in Japan it signals money and can be understood as a demand for a bribe; in Iran it means "the eye of the devil", in Greece it is referred to as homosexual, in Turkey, in Malta and in Latin America - an asshole, in Brazil: sexual organs.
Pulling out the index finger
In Poland we are pointing to something, but in Asia, for example, a dog is invoked in this way, and Latin America, Australia and Indonesia it's a sign given by a prostitute.
Victoria gesture
The letter v formed by the middle and pointing finger in Poland means victory, but in Asia shown in the reverse (the palm of the hand in the direction of the interlocutor) means the same as displaying the middle finger.
Snapping squares
Summoning a waiter like this is considered rude, but in many countries this gesture is still valid; in Mexico and Costa Rica to call the waiter people make a sound "psssyt" and in Panama they clap their hand at a waiter.
