SALUTE, ...

Hi, it's my first note on my english blog. That's why today I'm going to write a short savoir vivre lesson on the subject of greetings. Each of us wants to always make a good impression on a new person, both on new boss, teacher at the uni or even on new colleague at working place. Knowing some of the savoir-vivre rules can make it way more easier and simplier.

The greeting rules:

1. When a woman greets a man, she does not get up;

2. When a woman greets a woman of a similar age, it is enough that she will rise slightly; also in sitting they can give their hands, unless a woman greets a particularly important guest or a much older woman, then she gets up;

3. Men should stand up while greeting;

4. Hands: a woman gives her hand to a man, a senior woman, a superior one, a person of higher prestige with a less dignified person; it means that the hand of a woman-worker is always the first supervisor;

5. Do not give your hand over the desk or table, always leave the desk;

6. Hold the hand in front of you and squeeze it moderately; We do not give a hand, which is a sign of uncertainty and distrust.

I find this topic quite useful in our daily life, sometimes it's worthy to swallow your pride and educate yourself in yours habits.
