NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT

You just got used to writing a correct year in your notes but you have to learn another number at the end of the date?

You just got your christimas present but now you're painting easter eggs ?

The older you are, the shorter the week gets. “Where did the time go?” middle-aged and older adults often remark. Well, there are a few hypothesis which try to prove that the time passes faster with age.

The first of them is exemption of metabolism, the number of heartbeats per minute determines the time. Higher body temperature and blood pressure extends our perception of the time. This is why our learning sessions seem to last forever and parties with friends go on fast.

There is also Weber-Fechner law which relates to human perception, the relation between the actual change in a physical stimulus and the perceived change.

The passage of time in our brains determines the number of new stimulus and information that we have to process. During the childhood we have a lot of new events in our lifes, new school, first love, first seaside trip, first beer, first car. When we get older we fall into the routine and the habits, all these same days fly away unnoticed. We go to the same working place, we do the same job and we meet the same people.

If we spend whole days in the same way, we don't have much of the memories and because of this lack of events our brain calculates smaller number of time which had passed.  This is one of the main theories explaining the subjective acceleration of years that comes with time.

Therefore, we have to fight with overcoming routine and diversify our life to live long and happily.
