THE ROYAL RULES
As the royal wedding is the main topic of the week, I will write a little about the king's family, and more specifically about their specific rules. As it turns out, there are a lot of things that a couple has to think about when planning their ceremony.
In order for the marriage ceremony to be possible, Meghan Markle had to convert to Anglicanism. In addition, the American actress is a divorced woman. That's why the couple could not get married in Wesminster's cathedral.
WEDDING RINGS
Interestingly, although during the ceremony of the marriage couple exchange with wedding rings(which are always made of Welsh gold)., but only the wife wears it. Both Prince Philip and Prince William do not wear them. The exception is Prince Charles, who wore his wedding ring with Diana even after her death.
BOUQUET THROW
Catching a bouquet of a bride at a typical wedding usually symbolizes that you are the next person in the room that will get married. However, the tradition regarding bouquets at royal weddings is slightly different. The brides leave their bouquets at the tomb of the Unknown Warrior in London's Westminister Abbey. What is more the bridal bouquet of each bride must contain ordinary myrtle, it is a symbol of trust.
QUEEN'S DISTANCE
Approaching Queen Elizabeth II is against the royal protocol. Wedding guests who would like to congratulate Elizabeth II on the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, should wait until she approaches them. Guests should also adhere to the principle: If the queen speaks to you, answer her. Guests can touch Royal Highness only when she reaches out with her hand.
ICE
The bride borrows from the currently ruling monarch tiara for her big day, unless she comes from an aristocratic family - then she can set up a jewel belonging to the family collection.
DRESS
The bride's wedding dress always contains at least one element made of lace. According to the tradition of 1840, which was initiated by Queen Victoria, each dress of the future princess or duchess should be white and long.
CAKE
The cake is always made in two flavors so that everyone can choose the one they want. One always contains fruits. It is usually so huge that some parts are later frozen. Pieces of the wedding cake are packed carefully into decorative cans or cartons, and later given to guests, in thanks for coming.
MILITARY UNIFORM
Since the time of Queen Victoria's wedding with Prince Albert, there is also a tradition associated with men's clothing - a young gentleman should be clothed in a military uniform. Prince Harry also continued the tradition - at the wedding he was wearing the Irish Guards uniform, of which he is an honorary member.
TAKE YOUR SEATS
During the wedding ceremony, guests can not choose the place where they want to sit. The royal family and her friends sit on the right side of the church, while the family of the future spouse of a member of the royal family on the left side of the temple.

Very interesting infos, especially for me because I am a little bit off-topic with this one :) However, all of this sounds a bit frustrating to me. I' am aware that it has to refer to many traditions and customs, since it is both historic and historical event. But honestly, being in a royal family could be my worst nightmare. To The Prince on a White Horse: please, don't come!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I hope that during this royal wedding at least somebody had fun ;)
