GRAFFITI IS NOT A CRIME

According to the last event which shook the art world, I'd like to introduce Banksy, the perpetrator of the confusion.

Two days ago at Sotheby's in London was organised an auction. The final item was Banksy's artwork "Girl with Balloon", when the auction hammer hit with a highest price of a 1,04 million pounds something started to happen. Suddenly, the canvas passes through a shredder installed in the bottom of the frame. Nice prank, right?

Here's the clip if you're interested.

Who's this freak you'll ask.

He's an anonymous street art artist. The general message of his works is anti-war, anti-capitalist and pacifist. His latest works often include policemen, soldiers, children and the elderly as well as animals such as rats and monkeys.

Banksy does not sell photographs or reproductions of his street graffiti, but art auctioneers have been known to attempt to sell his street art on location and leave the problem of its removal in the hands of the winning bidder. That was his point in destroying his own masterpiece, but apparently he can kick himself cause right now his work has grown in price three times.

Personally, I like the most his works which refer to masterpieces. For example Monet's "Water lilies" where the clean water is changed into contaminated and littered tank.

His every work carry a shattering message about our society, global situations and major problems. They always forces me to stop and rethink what are we doing with our planete, animals and what huge companies does to humans.
