IMPROVING THE WORLD THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY

Today I'd like to talk a little bit about the outstanding moments when the photography took part in the world improvement.

The french photographer, who is operating under the pseudonym JR has shook the entire world many times.

He began with a graffiti, but along with the passage of time he photographed more and more. In combination of these two interests he was painting the frame and sticking the photo on the wall.
His most common method to create street art is through the use of wheat pasting and gigantic mono photographs. He often gets his subject models faces with a 28mm wide-angle lens which result in portraits that unguarded, funny, soulful, real, and that capture the spirits of individuals who normally go unseen.

His art has addressed specific problems, such as bad situation of women in the underdeveloped countries. JR’s intention is to highlight the dignity of women who occupy crucial roles in societies, and find themselves victims of wartime, street crime, sexual assault, and religious and political extremism. This project takes place in Africa, Brazil, India and Cambodia.

He was working on the Inside Out Project, he wanted to resist racism and encourage people for the tolerance. It concerned different ethnic origin, religion, culture, gender or sexual orientation together.

"We want that People see people besides all differences. Being different opens up more possibilities, such as life could be too.
We can learn from each other and so enrich our own lives.
We need not all be equal in order to live together. And sometimes we are more equal than we want to admit it."
